In the past, the usual remedies for unwanted hair were plucking, shaving, waxing, or chemical depilatories. Some are painful, some are messy, and all are only temporary. For long-term hair removal, electrolysis is popular and effective but can be painful and slow. Now there's a more effective solution, the new LightSheer Diode Laser, a state-of-the-art system designed to removed unwanted hair faster, less painfully, and more reliably than electrolysis. This is how it works - the light emitted by the LightSheer Diode Laser is absorbed by the pigment located in hair follicles. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just long enough to vaporize the pigment, disabling several follicles at a time to eliminate or significantly impede the hair's regrowth. A laser session can last a few minutes to an hour or more depending on the size of the area being treated, and more than one treatment may be required. The treatment itself typically causes a slight tingling sensation. Most people return to their normal activities right away. Immediate side-effects, if any, are minor and may include redness and swelling, which disappear in a short time. Ask us about the LightSheer
system and how we can use it to remove unwanted, excess hair by contacting us in Charleston at 843.722.1985, toll free

From Obagi there are two skin rejuvenation and treatment systems - Nu-Derm® and Blue Peel®. The Obagi Nu-Derm products are a unique line of cleansers, toners, and creams designed to compliment the benefits of tretinoin treatment. The system repairs skin damage, correcting lines and wrinkles, creating a lovely, even skin tone. Most importantly, it stimulates the cellular level to increase collagen and elastin, and to renew the flow of natural moisture to the surface. Obagi Blue Peel is a new technique which can achieve the same result as a deeper chemical peel or laser, but is safer and more economical. It is a one to four step application of blue solution mixed with TCA (Trichloracetic Acid). These applications will lead to the removal of thin surface layers of aged and damaged skin. Layers of dead skin cells exfoliate and are replaced by healthier ones allowing the skin's own clarity and tightness to resurface within 7 to 10 days. We also carry a full line of Obagi skin care products such as gentle cleanser, deep cleaning foaming gel, toner to restore the skin's natural pH level, skin bleaching and corrector cream, skin exfoliating cream or lotion, skin lightener and blending cream, sun lighteners with sunscreen, sunblock, eye cream, and topical antibiotic. SkinCeuticals has developed a line of vitamin-C enhanced skin care products to combat the effects of "photo-aging." Recent skin care research shows that aging skin is the result of more than just age. Everyday, your skin is exposed to environmental elements like sunlight, smoke, and air pollution, elements which cause oxy radicals to form in the skin. These oxy radicals attack the skin's collagen layer and break it down, causing lines and wrinkles to appear. This process is otherwise known as "photo-aging." Research has shown the topical vitamin-C can help improve skin tone and elasticity, and help improve the appearance of skin damaged by photo-aging. SkinCeutical products include SkinC Serum 15 or SkinC Firming Cream which are are enhance with vitamin-C to help replenish and revitalize the skin, SkinC Eye Gel or SkinC Eye Cream for revitalization of the delicate skin around the eyes, Hydrating B5 Gel which is is enriched with vitamin-B5 to help with tissue repair, Phyto Corrective Gel, which is an oil-free gel that helps diminish the appearance of brown spots and promotes a clean, clear complexion, Intensive Moisture Replenisher which is loaded with gamma linolenic acid, vitamin-A, and vitamin-E and also blended with cucumber and arnica montana, know for their calming and healing properties, and Ultimate UV Defense SPF 30, which contains transparent zinc-oxide for broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) protection. Derma Peel is a new skin restoration process, commonly referred to as "the lunch time peel" because the procedure takes only minutes, and most patients can return to work immediately afterward. Derma Peel has been used at European spas for several years. This technique has recently received clearance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States. The Derma Peel procedure uses highly controlled vacuum and pressure to move microscopically abrasive crystals over the surface of the skin. This action causes little or no discomfort while it gently removes the outer layer of the skin. By repeating this process over the course of several weeks or months, the younger, softer skin moves to the surface, revealing significant textural and color changes. Unlike Dermabrasion, acid peels, or laser resurfacing, Derma Peel causes little or no discomfort, requires no anesthesia, requires no recuperation period, and treats all skin types. | Botox®, or Botulinum Toxin
Type A, is a purified, natural toxin produced by bacteria. By using extremely small doses
of Botox®, injected directly into a specific muscle, a minor paralysis occurs. Botox®
has been used medically for many years to treat blepharospasm, or eyelid twitching.
Botox® has since been found to be effective in the treatment of natural wrinkle lines
that occur with aging. Injections of Botox® can inactivate the muscles that produce
the wrinkles thereby causing the lines to disappear for several months at a time. For
example, Botox® is effective for fading frownlines between the eyebrows, crowsfeet, and
neck folds. Actual treatment takes
only a few minutes. Thereafter, Botox® takes effect anywhere from 5 to 10 days after the
injections. Gradually, over 3 to 5 months the Botox® effect will fade and the
muscle action will return, thereby requiring maintenance treatments approximately every
four to six months. As time goes on, the frequency of the injections decreases and some
patients can be maintained on yearly treatment sessions. In all, Botox® is an excellent,
nonsurgical method of treating facial wrinkles. For more information on how Botox® can
