Dr. Craig Blum, MD

Craig Blum, MD, FACS, is a board-certified plastic surgeon with deep roots in South Carolina. With more than two decades of training and over 5,000 completed procedures, Dr. Blum has a wealth of experience and is known for his unmatched dedication to his patients.

Raised in Mullins, South Carolina, where his mother worked as a nurse, Dr. Blum began volunteering at a local hospital as a boy. He graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of South Carolina. He earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. His six-year residency in general surgery at MUSC included dedicated research in cancer genetics at Hollings Cancer Center in the laboratory of current university president David Cole, MD.

After his residency, Dr. Blum completed fellowship training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Tulane University, where he served as administrative chief resident. He spent four years at the Center for Restorative Breast Surgery in New Orleans, one of the nation’s most specialized breast surgery practices.

In 2018, Dr. Blum returned to South Carolina and entered private practice in plastic surgery, where he has helped countless patients feel confident through plastic and reconstructive surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and earned board certification in general surgery earlier in his career. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a published researcher. His practice centers on aesthetic breast surgery, his deepest area of expertise, along with abdominoplasty, liposuction, body contouring after significant weight loss, and eyelid and facial surgery.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Blum enjoys spending time with his family including his wife Chloe and two young children Rosie and August.
