The shape of a woman’s breasts can change over time, and a breast lift is a good fit for someone who would like to correct sagging due to aging, pregnancy, weight loss, breastfeeding, gravity, or heredity. Candidates for a breast lift may feel that they have a sagging, elongated shape, nipples that point downward, stretched skin, enlarged areolas, or one breast lower than the other. During your consultation, our physician will talk with you about expectations regarding shape and position. They will also perform an examination and go over surgical options. During the consultation, you will also discuss any medical conditions, medications, and lab test results.
A lift is performed by reshaping the breast tissue, repositioning the areola, and removing excess skin to achieve the desired appearance. Your surgeon will go over the specific placement of incisions and the benefits and risks associated with the procedure. Our staff will review pre-operative and post-operative care and follow-up appointments to ensure proper healing and prevent infection. Each patient heals at a different rate, but you can expect to wear a supportive sports bra for a number of weeks, as well as limitations on lifting and high-impact activities.
